Abstrak

ABSTRACT. The existence of an assistant in a computer laboratory is one of the important elements in supporting the learning process of the computer laboratory in the Engineering Faculty of Jabal Ghafur University. Therefore, the concept of decision support systems in the process selection of computer laboratory assistants is required. Mistakes in decision making cause distrust of the quality of computer laboratory assistants received and have an impact on the decreasing comprehension of students. This study aims to analyze the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method in the selection of computer laboratory assistants in the Engineering Faculty of Jabal Ghafur University. The final result of this study is to determine the best alternative of several alternatives. There are five criteria used in the selection of computer laboratory assistants such as GPA, knowledge of hardware and computer network, master of programming, the ability of computer service and attitude. Counting a system to support the decision of using TOPSIS can yield the best alternative to make decisions in selecting the appropriate laboratory assistant candidate accepted.
